What is a CSA?

CSA stands for community-supported agriculture. There are a lot of upfront costs for any farmer at the beginning of their growing season, and since winter is the slowest time of year it makes it tough to purchase the necessary items to start the growing season. This is where the CSA helps us out greatly. We truly need the support of our community in order to operate successfully. With the CSA our customers pay ahead of time for a 6-month subscription of products. This allows us to purchase the chicks, feed, packaging, and building materials necessary to start the growing season.

The Importance of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

The CSA is crucial for us, especially during the initial phase of the growing season, when upfront costs are high. Given that winter is the slowest period of the year, procuring necessary items becomes challenging. The CSA comes to our aid significantly. Our community’s support is indispensable for our successful operation. Through the CSA, customers pay in advance for a 6-month subscription of products. This upfront support enables us to procure chicks, feed, packaging, and building materials essential for initiating the growing season.

How CSA Works

Every month, we designate one pickup day, typically the last Saturday. Customers receive a carefully curated package of products, all raised, grown, and processed on our farm. Being part of our CSA brings multiple benefits. It secures your subscription regardless of market fluctuations or supply chain disruptions. You directly engage with us, your farmers, as we maintain transparency in our practices. Our animals lead fulfilling lives on high-quality rotational pastures and are fed a non-GMO diet. From birth to processing, our poultry is raised under our care, with utmost attention to their well-being.

This marks our 11th season of processing poultry on our own. We prioritize ensuring a stress-free and humane transition for our animals throughout the process. Processing on-site eliminates the need for transporting birds off-farm to a processing facility, minimizing stress. We take pride in offering environmentally conscious, sustainable, and humanely raised products to our community. As consumers, we believe you deserve to know the origins and raising practices of your food.
